First Pass

Terms & Conditions

Effective Date: 9th July, 2026

Welcome to First Pass. These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the First Pass website, email briefings, account features, topic pages, and related services.

By using the website, creating an account, or subscribing to a First Pass briefing, you agree to these Terms.

1. What First Pass Does

First Pass is a personalized news briefing service. Users can choose topics they are interested in, receive email briefings, manage their preferences through the website, and browse recent stories by topic.

First Pass summarizes, organizes, and provides analysis on news and information from third-party sources. Our goal is to help you get a clear first pass on what happened and why it may matter.

2. Informational Use Only

First Pass is provided for informational and educational purposes only.

Nothing on First Pass should be treated as financial, investment, legal, medical, tax, or other professional advice. You should not make decisions based solely on First Pass content. For important decisions, you should consult the appropriate professional or review the original sources directly.

3. Accounts

To use certain First Pass features, you may need to create an account. Account sign-in is handled through email and one-time passcodes.

You are responsible for keeping your account access secure and for any activity that occurs through your account. If you believe your account has been accessed without permission, contact us at [hello@firstpass.news](mailto:hello@firstpass.news).

You can unsubscribe from First Pass emails through the links provided in the emails or adjust your briefing frequency and preferences through the user portal. To delete your account, contact us at [hello@firstpass.news](mailto:hello@firstpass.news).

4. Email Communications

By signing up for First Pass, you agree to receive First Pass emails, including personalized briefings, service updates, account-related messages, and product announcements.

You can unsubscribe from briefing emails or change your email frequency through the links in our emails or through the user portal. Some account-related or administrative emails may still be sent when necessary to operate the service.

5. Personalization and Topic Suggestions

First Pass lets users select topics and may allow users to suggest new topics.

Suggested topics are reviewed by First Pass. We may approve, reject, modify, combine, rename, or remove topics at our discretion. We are not required to add any suggested topic or maintain any topic permanently.

6. Referrals and Rewards

First Pass may offer referral programs, rewards, credits, or other promotional benefits.

We may change, suspend, limit, or revoke referral rewards at any time, including in cases of suspected abuse, fraud, spam, self-referrals, or behavior that undermines the purpose of the referral program.

Referral rewards have no cash value unless we explicitly say otherwise.

7. Third-Party Content and Sources

First Pass may reference, summarize, link to, or analyze content from third-party publishers, websites, and information sources.

We do not control third-party content and are not responsible for its accuracy, availability, completeness, or opinions. Links to third-party sites do not mean First Pass endorses those sites or their views.

8. Sharing First Pass Content

You are welcome to share First Pass content, excerpts, links, and briefings.

First Pass owns its website, design, branding, product experience, and original written material. Third-party content remains the property of its respective owners.

9. User Conduct

Because First Pass does not currently include public posting, commenting, or social features, user conduct obligations are limited.

You agree not to misuse the service, attempt to interfere with its operation, access accounts or systems without permission, use First Pass for unlawful purposes, or abuse referrals, emails, account creation, or topic suggestion features.

10. Privacy

First Pass collects limited information needed to operate the service, including your name, email address, and topic preferences.

We may create a separate Privacy Policy that explains our data practices in more detail. If we publish a Privacy Policy, it will apply to your use of First Pass in addition to these Terms.

11. Availability and Changes to the Service

First Pass is currently offered as a free service.

We may add, change, limit, suspend, or discontinue any part of First Pass at any time, including topics, briefings, website features, referral programs, personalization options, and email frequency options.

We do not guarantee that First Pass will always be available, error-free, uninterrupted, or up to date.

12. Future Paid Features

First Pass may introduce paid plans, subscriptions, sponsorships, premium features, or other monetization in the future.

If we introduce paid features, we will provide the relevant terms before charging users.

13. Age Requirement

You must be at least 13 years old to use First Pass.

If you are under 13, you may not create an account or use the service.

14. Termination

You may stop using First Pass at any time.

We may suspend or terminate access to First Pass if we believe a user has violated these Terms, abused the service, created risk for First Pass or other users, or used the service in a way that is unlawful or harmful.

15. Disclaimers

First Pass is provided “as is” and “as available.”

We make no promises that the service will meet your expectations, that briefings will include every important story, that summaries will always be complete or accurate, or that third-party information will be reliable or available.

You use First Pass at your own discretion.

16. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, First Pass will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses related to your use of or inability to use the service.

17. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict of law principles.

18. Updates to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we may notify users through the website, email, or another reasonable method.

Your continued use of First Pass after updated Terms are posted or communicated means you accept the updated Terms.
